We took the Ferry to Sandhamn and had lunch at Sandhamns Värdshus – stekt strömming…mmmmm

Visiting friends in Sweden, spending a couple of days in my friends house in Värmdö. Beautiful and serene.

Breakfast on the deck – a typical Swedish summer day, birds are singing, a bit of sunshine, a couple of drops of rain.

Heading out for some emergency shopping for clothes and other necessities – my bag is in transit somewhere. Lost it in Copenhagen….

 

Painting with Acrylics

First attempt to paint – could have been worse. This was palette knives only – hope to get better with practice.

I have been watching the swans behavior for a month or so.

They started by chasing all the Geese from the lake, then there were a lot of excursions on the shore. Finally a site for a nest was selected and the swans started building by decimating the greenery around the site. I spotted at least 4 eggs in the nest before Ode started laying on the eggs. Now…. I waiting for the eggs to hatch, sometime in the beginning of June.

Time to bring order to chaos, filing paperwork. My helper shredded some and then promptly climbed into the box to signal that I was done for the day.

I embark on a 1h walk early every morning. There is very little traffic and only a few fellow early morning runners and walkers. I take a photo almost every day, when something catches my eye.

Attended the Half-Mile tracks in Calistoga May 5, 2018 – where twin-cylinder motorcycles generating 90+ horsepower race bar-to-bar at speeds in excess of 140 mph. Best of all — a woman came in second. Awesome!

Attended two assembly tastings of Ridge Vineyards flagship wine,  Montebello. This is one of my favorite tastings. I get to taste the components that make up the wine as well as the first and then the final assembly.

I am heading to Paso Robles tomorrow with friends for wine tasting and to pick up wine shipments. When I visited Paso Robles some 5 years ago, I found a winery, l’Aventure, that produces excellent french style wines.

Last year I could not go pickup my case of wine, this year I am picking up two of them.

Will be fun….
